Senior Software Engineer – IT Group Security (Facial Recognition)

About the role

Emirates is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its IT Group Security team focused on facial recognition technology. You will be part of an agile feature team, delivering secure, high‑quality software that supports the airline’s global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in technical design and convert requirements into low‑level design and production code.
• Develop, test, and maintain Java‑based microservices and front‑end components using Spring, Hibernate and React.
• Write secure, optimized code following Emirates Group coding standards and CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide on‑call support, resolve production incidents within SLAs, and ensure 100% unit test coverage.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and refactoring practices to minimise technical debt.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to engineering playbooks and standards.

Required profile

• Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of software engineering experience, preferably in an Agile environment.
• Hands‑on experience with Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, React, microservices, RESTful APIs, Docker, Kubernetes and cloud platforms.
