Senior Specialist – Brain Injury Medicine (Government Hospital, Dubai)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Specialist in Brain Injury Medicine to join a leading government hospital in Dubai. The role involves delivering comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation planning for patients with traumatic and acquired brain injuries.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, hypoxic brain injury and other acquired brain injuries across acute, sub‑acute and rehabilitation settings.
• Develop individualized treatment, rehabilitation and follow‑up plans based on clinical condition and functional needs.
• Identify and treat complications such as seizures, cognitive impairment, spasticity, dysphagia, communication and mobility issues.
• Coordinate emergency management for patients with altered consciousness and acute neurological presentations.
• Collaborate with neurosurgeons, neurologists, intensivists, rehabilitation specialists and allied health professionals.
• Lead multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences and rehabilitation goal setting.
• Provide medical management of pain, spasticity, seizures, sleep disturbances and behavioral symptoms.
• Communicate diagnosis, prognosis and treatment options to patients, families and caregivers.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and interpret relevant investigations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in assessment and management of traumatic and acquired brain injuries.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families and healthcare professionals.

Required skills

• Neurological assessment of brain‑injured patients.
