Senior Specialist Consultant – Oncology (Government Healthcare)

About the role

A prestigious government healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist / Consultant in Oncology to join its multidisciplinary cancer‑care team. The role involves delivering evidence‑based diagnosis, treatment and follow‑up for adult cancer patients within a well‑established public health environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients with a broad range of adult oncology conditions.
• Develop individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans, including systemic anti‑cancer therapies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and coordinate care with surgeons, radiation oncologists, radiologists and pathologists.
• Monitor treatment response, manage adverse effects and provide supportive and survivorship care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to audits, research and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Teach, supervise and mentor junior medical staff.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Medical or Clinical Oncology (e.g., UK CCT, American Board, Australian Board, South African Board).
• Significant post‑specialty clinical experience in adult oncology.
• Proven experience in systemic cancer treatment and management of treatment‑related complications.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary oncology team.
