Senior Specialist – Safety Certification & Regulation

About the role

The Senior Specialist will lead railway safety certification and regulatory activities across the Emirate. You will embed safety into daily work practices, support emerging transport modes and ensure compliance with legislation and international benchmarks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute governance processes for safety licensing and monitoring in line with railway legislation.
• Conduct periodic safety inspections of railway systems and operators, evaluate licenses, and enforce judicial controls against violators.
• Review safety certification applications, prepare certificates, and provide feedback to managers.
• Provide technical feedback after safety‑critical incidents to drive process improvement and enforcement actions.
• Support the business with expert safety judgement for emerging modes such as autonomous vehicles.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Risk Management, Business Administration, Public Policy or Data/Analytics.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in safety certification, regulation or railway safety.
• Strong knowledge of railway legislation, international standards and best practices.
