Senior Structural Engineer

About the role

Avantis Group is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join its UAE engineering team on a full‑time basis. The role focuses on delivering robust structural solutions for oil & gas and offshore projects, covering steel structures, modules, pipe racks, foundations and marine installations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed hand and computer‑based structural calculations for steel structures, modules, pipe racks, equipment foundations and offshore structures.
• Conduct and review advanced Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS, STAAD, SAP2000 or equivalent tools.
• Execute or review CFD and other fluid‑structure interaction studies such as wind, blast, ventilation and hydrodynamic loads.
• Develop and review 3D structural models, coordinate with plant and naval architecture models, and participate in clash detection.
• Review and approve structural and fabrication drawings for compliance with design intent and constructability.
• Ensure designs meet international codes and standards (AISC, Eurocode, API, ISO) and classification society requirements (DNV, ABS, LR, etc.).
• Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces with piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and naval architecture teams.
• Support bidding and proposal phases with technical input, scope clarification and engineering estimates.
• Prepare material take‑offs, weight estimates and mass properties for procurement and load assessment.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, constructability sessions and client meetings.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 + years of structural engineering experience on oil & gas and offshore projects.
• Proven ability to deliver complex structural designs and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong hands‑on experience with FEA tools and structural calculations.
• Experience with CFD or fluid‑structure interaction studies is advantageous.
• Working knowledge of classification society rules and their application to offshore and marine structures.
