Senior Systems Administrator

About the role

DIEZ is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to manage, maintain and optimise its IT infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. The role ensures the availability, security, performance and resilience of critical platforms, including Microsoft technologies, cloud services, virtualisation, storage, data centre infrastructure and backup and recovery solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support Windows Server environments, server infrastructure and core enterprise platforms, monitoring availability, capacity and performance and resolving incidents proactively.
• Plan and execute system upgrades, patching, configuration changes and lifecycle activities, and maintain technical documentation, system inventories, operating procedures and configuration records.
• Administer Microsoft Azure and AWS, and manage Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory and Entra ID, including user access, authentication, group policies and identity controls.
• Support hybrid integration between on-premises systems and the cloud, and apply access governance, privileged access and security configuration standards.
• Manage VMware, Hyper-V and vSphere environments, and administer SAN, NAS and enterprise storage arrays.
• Oversee data centre server infrastructure, rack management, power and cooling coordination and equipment organisation.
• Manage backup and recovery platforms such as Veeam, Commvault, Azure Backup and NetBackup, perform recovery testing and support disaster recovery planning.
• Implement infrastructure hardening, vulnerability remediation and security baselines with cybersecurity teams, and provide incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and technical guidance to internal teams and service providers.
