Senior Technical Software Engineer – Java Full Stack

About the role

Emirates Group IT is looking for a Senior Technical Software Engineer to join an agile feature team focused on building and maintaining Java‑based solutions that support the Emirates Group business. You will work independently on design, development, and deployment of complex, high‑impact applications while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy Java full‑stack solutions using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud and related frameworks.
• Conduct technical design reviews and ensure appropriate architecture patterns are applied.
• Drive engineering best practices such as test‑driven development, CI/CD automation, and blameless incident post‑mortems.
• Mentor and guide junior software engineers, reviewing code and ensuring adherence to standards.
• Investigate, debug and resolve complex production issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree or Honours in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience developing Java applications (Java 8/11/17) with Spring Boot.
• Proven experience delivering large‑scale, mission‑critical software in an agile environment.

Required skills

• Java (8, 11, 17), Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring WebFlux, JPA, Hibernate.
• Testing frameworks such as JUnit or TestNG.
• Front‑end technologies: ReactJS, NextJS.
• Messaging and integration: Solace, Tibco, Kafka, Netflix OSS components.
• Containerisation and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure (hybrid architecture).
• Databases: Oracle SQL, NoSQL, RESTful API design.
• CI/CD, DevOps principles, automated deployments.
