Senior Traffic Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead complex traffic studies, modelling and mobility assessments for major developments in Dubai. The role involves direct coordination with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to secure approvals and ensure compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Traffic Impact Studies, traffic modelling and capacity assessments for large-scale projects.
• Conduct junction analysis, signal optimisation and microsimulation using industry‑standard tools.
• Develop and review traffic mitigation and access solutions to meet safety and operational standards.
• Prepare technical reports, deliver client presentations and manage RTA coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review traffic, junction and road designs from operational and safety perspectives.
• Mentor junior engineers and support technical delivery across multiple projects.

Required profile

• BSc in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in traffic engineering and transport planning.
• Proven experience with Dubai RTA TIS requirements and approval processes, including RTA pre‑qualification for Traffic Impact Studies.
• Strong technical writing, reporting and client‑facing capabilities.

Required skills

• Hands‑on proficiency with SIDRA and VISSIM traffic modelling software.
• Advanced traffic analysis and microsimulation techniques.
• Experience conducting traffic impact studies and capacity assessments.
• Knowledge of RTA TIS standards and approval procedures.
• Technical writing and presentation skills.
