Service Lead - Maritime Planning

About the role

The Service Lead – Maritime Planning will drive delivery of maritime projects from feasibility through to tender and construction phases. Based in the UAE or KSA, the role supports WSP’s growth in the Middle East by ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Member of the Maritime Senior Management Team, contributing to business unit strategy and growth.
• Lead and develop a team of 5‑10 maritime planning professionals, managing workload, capacity and recruitment.
• Oversee maritime planning projects from pursuit to delivery, including scope definition, risk management, contract negotiations and commercial oversight.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering tailored solutions for coastal developments, marinas and ports.
• Forecast project workload, monitor budgets and identify resource needs.
• Act as subject‑matter expert for maritime infrastructure and stay current with industry trends.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to integrate maritime requirements into overall designs.
• Review and approve technical reports, studies and presentations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline (preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience delivering maritime engineering and planning projects in the GCC.
• Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Professional registration or certification in civil or maritime engineering is advantageous.
