Service Operator I – Cementing

Key responsibilities

• Rig up and rig down cementing service equipment on‑site, including spotting cement storage vessels, pre‑mixing spacer fluids and setting up data monitoring and emergency backup equipment.
• Perform pre‑job calculations such as pipe capacities, plug landing pressures, hydrostatic and differential pressures, bulk cement blending and additive dosing.
• Complete all required documentation, reports and forms related to the cementing service performed.
• Train and guide operator assistants on vehicle inspections, equipment operation and safety procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months experience as an Operator Assistant – Cementing II.
• Commercial driver’s licence may be required.
• Completion of I‑Learn courses: General Hydraulics for Downhole Tools and Essential Preventative Maintenance.

Required skills

• Cement pumping and mixing equipment.
• Blenders and liquid additive metering systems.
• Centrifugal pumps.
• Data acquisition and Automatic Density Control (ADC) systems.
• Bulk cement blending, delivery and storage systems.
• Manifold equipment and cementing plug releasing tools.
