SFCC Backend Developer

About the role

Join Chalhoub Group in Dubai as an SFCC Backend Developer, working on flagship e‑commerce sites for globally recognised brands. You will help deliver high‑performance, secure, and scalable solutions on the Salesforce Commerce Cloud (Demandware) platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cross‑browser, cross‑device pages using ISML, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML, XML, CSS, and AJAX.
• Build templates, content slots and integrate with Pipelines/Controllers on SFCC.
• Architect and define front‑end frameworks that meet complex design and interaction requirements.
• Mentor project teams across multiple small‑to‑medium projects or a single large initiative.
• Shift between creative and technical focus as project needs evolve.
• Contribute to proposal material, scoping, planning and technical documentation.
• Act as a thought leader in back‑end technologies and support recruitment of front‑end talent.

Required profile

• First‑hand experience as a backend developer on the SFCC/Demandware platform.
• Strong knowledge of SiteGenesis/SFRA framework, services framework and platform capabilities.
• Good grasp of data structures, algorithms and front‑end application architecture.
• Proficiency in modular, object‑oriented JavaScript and design patterns.
• Hands‑on experience with AngularJS, jQuery plugins, CSS preprocessors and modular CSS methodologies.
• Familiarity with front‑end frameworks (Bootstrap, Semantic‑UI, Foundation) and RESTful APIs.
• Experience writing JavaScript unit tests (Jasmine, Karma) and custom Grunt automation tasks.
