Shift Engineer – Residential Maintenance

About the role

The Residences Shift Engineer provides on‑site maintenance and repair services for guest rooms and public areas at the BVLGARI Resort in Dubai. The role involves responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests, communicate solutions, and document daily activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and complete clean‑up of work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of systems: air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical components, plumbing fixtures, and landscaping sprinklers.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work and maintain accurate inventory of parts and supplies.
• Program televisions, manage housekeeping‑related inventory, and input HVAC schedules via computer.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, painting, and basic hotel engineering preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Electrical wiring, switches, and outlets.
• Plumbing fixtures and drain clearing.
• Pneumatic/electronic controls and basic HVAC scheduling.
• Carpentry, painting, and drywall repair.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
