Shift Technician

About the role

The Shift Technician joins Hyde Hotels in Dubai to ensure the electrical and low‑voltage systems operate safely and efficiently during each shift. Reporting to the Duty Engineer, you will take ownership of electrical maintenance, respond to guest and operational requests, and support emergency incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical troubleshooting, corrective repairs, inspections and preventive maintenance on distribution, lighting, power, controls, LV systems, motors and pumps.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams, schematics and equipment manuals.
• Carry out safe isolation and reinstatement of electrical equipment in line with hotel procedures and safety permits.
• Maintain electrical panels, DBs, MCCs, isolators, breakers, contactors, relays and emergency lighting.
• Support basic operation of BMS, GRMS, lighting control and access/control interfaces.
• Undertake general maintenance tasks such as basic plumbing, HVAC/FCU checks, pump servicing, carpentry, painting and silicone/grouting.
• Attend emergency breakdowns, alarms and incidents, make areas safe and escalate specialist work when required.
• Assist with fire and life‑safety system checks and emergency drills within competence.
• Maintain housekeeping, tool availability and accurate work order records.

Required profile

• Experience in hotel or facilities electrical maintenance, preferably on shift patterns.
• Ability to read and work from electrical schematics and building services drawings.
• Knowledge of safe electrical isolation procedures and relevant safety standards.
• Willingness to respond promptly to guest‑facing maintenance requests.
• Good teamwork skills to support other engineering disciplines.
