Shift Technician

About the role

The Shift Technician is responsible for maintaining all electrical and related building systems during the assigned shift at an Accor hotel in Dubai. The role ensures safe, reliable operation of guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities while supporting the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Report shift activities, work orders, equipment status and incidents to the Duty Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.
• Perform electrical maintenance including troubleshooting, corrective repairs, inspections and preventive tasks.
• Respond to maintenance requests from guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house locations, restoring equipment with minimal disruption.
• Diagnose and repair electrical distribution, lighting, power controls, LV systems, motors, pumps and associated equipment.
• Inspect and maintain panels, distribution boards, MCCs, isolators, breakers, contactors, relays and emergency lighting.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams, schematics, control drawings and equipment manuals.
• Carry out safe electrical isolation and reinstatement following hotel procedures and safety requirements.
• Support basic operation of BMS, GRMS, lighting controls and access/control interfaces.
• Perform minor general maintenance such as plumbing, HVAC/FCU checks, carpentry, painting and silicone/grouting.
• Attend emergency breakdowns and alarms, ensure area safety, take corrective action and escalate when needed.

Required profile

• Ability to work shift patterns and respond promptly to service requests.
• Capability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of safe electrical isolation procedures and hotel safety standards.
• Willingness to support other engineering disciplines and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
