Shipping Coordinator

About the role

The Shipping Coordinator will manage end‑to‑end inbound and outbound shipments for Caterpillar’s Middle East operations. You will ensure compliance with customs regulations, prepare accurate shipping documentation, and coordinate with freight forwarders and internal teams to guarantee timely delivery of customer orders.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments across air, sea, road, and courier networks.
• Book shipments with freight forwarders and monitor progress from origin to destination.
• Identify and resolve delays, documentation issues, and transportation exceptions.
• Prepare and validate commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates, and other export/import documents.
• Verify commodity descriptions, HS codes, values, origin information, and Incoterms.
• Ensure compliance with UAE customs, free‑zone requirements, and company policies.
• Support customs clearance, audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Liaise with logistics, warehouse, operations, quality, customer service, and finance teams.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of international shipping processes and customs regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain audit‑ready records.
• Proactive problem‑solver with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Experience with commercial invoicing, packing list preparation, and customs documentation.
• Familiarity with HS code classification and Incoterms.
• Understanding of UAE customs and free‑zone compliance.
