SOC Analyst – Security Operations Center

About the role

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst will join CPX Security’s SOC team in Abu Dhabi, monitoring the organization’s network and systems for security incidents. The role involves continuous analysis of alerts, correlation of events, and rapid response to protect critical assets.

Key responsibilities

• Examine network topologies to understand data flow and identify potential exposure.
• Use SOC tools and SIEM consoles to monitor system activity and detect malicious behavior.
• Identify network mapping and operating‑system fingerprinting activities.
• Continuously review SIEM alerts, perform event correlation and generate reports.
• Investigate, document and respond to security incidents according to established procedures.
• Develop and fine‑tune detection rules, dashboards and alerts within the SIEM platform.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems or a related quantitative field.
• 4‑6 years of experience in a large‑scale ICT environment focusing on information or cyber security.
• CompTIA Security+ and EC‑Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certifications preferred.
• Immediate availability or notice period of up to one month.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP and the OSI Seven‑Layer model.
• Experience with SIEM platforms (rule creation, reporting, dashboards).
• Knowledge of IPS, antivirus, file‑integrity monitoring and DLP solutions.
• Proficiency in LAN/WAN technologies and network traffic analysis.
• Ability to perform log monitoring, event correlation and incident detection.
• Familiarity with Windows and Unix‑based systems security.
• Understanding of defense‑in‑depth analysis techniques and security best practices.
