Social Studies / History Teacher

About the role

Ignite School is looking for a passionate Social Studies/History Teacher to join its School of Modern Skills in Dubai. The successful candidate will bring history to life, helping students understand the events, cultures and figures that have shaped our world while developing critical thinking and analytical abilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging Social Studies and History lessons aligned with the American curriculum.
• Integrate interactive activities, projects and discussions that connect past events to contemporary issues.
• Assess student progress through assignments, tests and formative feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and school initiatives.
• Maintain classroom discipline and foster an inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or PG certificate in Education, History or Social Studies.
• MOE educator’s license.
• Minimum two years of teaching experience, preferably in an American‑curriculum school.
• Non‑native English speakers must meet KHDA IELTS requirements.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of historical periods and social studies concepts.
• Ability to create interactive, student‑centred lessons.
• Effective classroom management and communication skills.
