Software Engineer – Application Support

About the role

GAC Group IT is seeking a Software Engineer – Application Support to join its Dubai team. The role focuses on ensuring the availability and performance of critical applications, providing 2nd and 3rd line support, and collaborating with development and infrastructure teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform 2nd and 3rd line support for assigned applications, coordinating with development and helpdesk teams.
• Manage incidents, proactive alerts, change requests, and service requests in line with enterprise standards.
• Resolve issues within agreed service levels, providing work‑arounds and escalating when necessary.
• Communicate proactively with internal and external customers, delivering timely updates.
• Participate in application improvement projects and bug‑fixes to enhance stability and performance.
• Maintain clear documentation of application functionality and support procedures in the knowledge base.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of production support experience in a software environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP) and C#.
• Experience with .NET Core / .NET Framework and REST APIs.
• Proficiency with DevExpress UI components (WinForms and/or WPF).
• Hands‑on experience with MS SQL Server, complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning, and troubleshooting (Azure SQL preferred).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service, and cloud‑hosted web services.
