Software Engineering Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead, manage, mentor, and build a team of software and data engineers, fostering collaboration and innovation in an industrial setting. The role combines technical leadership with strategic budgeting and cross‑functional partnership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software and data engineers, promoting a culture of collaboration and creative problem‑solving.
• Establish engineering best practices, frameworks, agile methodologies, and tools to drive technology excellence.
• Own the engineering budget and manage resources, including staffing, software licenses, and tools.
• Partner with product managers, UX/UI designers, business stakeholders, and the IT group to define technical strategy, design, and architecture.
• Ensure execution of the technical strategy with high standards of design patterns, code quality, extensibility, usability, and maintainability.
• Define compliance, governance, system integration, and data‑integrity frameworks between the business unit and IT.
• Guide the design and architecture of a purpose‑built data platform supporting data science, machine learning, and AI initiatives.
• Design and implement a SaaS platform that enables multiple feature teams to build business‑specific solutions while maintaining a consistent user experience.
• Conduct technical evaluations of third‑party applications and solutions.
• Establish DevOps processes and best practices.
• Create a comprehensive framework for quality assurance, testing, and automation.
• Promote continuous learning of the latest technologies and methodologies within the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading, managing, and mentoring software and data engineering teams.
• Strong ability to foster collaboration, innovation, and creative problem‑solving.
• Experience defining compliance, governance, and integration frameworks across business and IT units.
• Demonstrated capability in budgeting, resource planning, and managing software licenses and tools.
