Sommelier – Luxury Hotel in Abu Dhabi

About the role

The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal is seeking a professional Sommelier to lead its wine program. You will work closely with guests, culinary teams and vendors to ensure an exceptional wine experience that complements the hotel’s fine dining venues.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with guests and staff to coordinate service and ensure teamwork.
• Answer guest inquiries about wine origin, vintage and style.
• Create, update and maintain the wine list, including pairing recommendations.
• Attend tastings, develop vendor relationships and request new wines.
• Design and implement wine promotions and incentive programs.
• Monitor and replenish wine cellar inventory, equipment and glassware, applying FIFO principles.
• Conduct vintage and BIN number checks and staff wine tastings.
• Perform opening and closing duties, maintain cleanliness and security of storage areas.
• Serve wine and champagne, ensure compliance with local alcohol laws.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling and performance coaching.
