Specialist Data and Access Security Planning Trainee

About the role

This trainee position supports du’s data and access security initiatives, helping to protect information assets across the organization. You will work closely with senior security professionals to monitor, assess, and improve security controls.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor systems and networks for security threats, vulnerabilities, or suspicious activity.
• Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, encryption solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents or data breaches.
• Maintain secure access controls and manage user permissions.
• Develop and update privacy policies in line with UAE Data Law, Dubai Data Law, DESC security law, GDPR, HIPAA, and other regulations.
• Oversee data lifecycle practices, including collection, usage, storage, and deletion.
• Perform privacy impact assessments for new systems, software, or projects.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of information security concepts and tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional integrity and commitment to organizational security.
