About the role

The Specialist Drilling Engineering Fluids will lead the preparation and optimisation of drilling programmes, ensuring safe and efficient operations across ADNOC’s projects. This role combines technical expertise in drilling fluids, well control and rock mechanics to drive innovative solutions and maintain well integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and optimise drilling programmes to guarantee safety and efficiency.
• Develop and implement innovative drilling techniques and technologies.
• Examine and analyse drilling data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts during drilling activities.
• Review and advise on casing design and material selection.
• Execute well suspension and abandonment plans in line with industry standards.
• Advise on blowout contingency plans and hazard identification.
• Analyse subsurface pressures, borehole stability and rock mechanics.
• Develop and review cementing design and operations for optimal well integrity.
• Supervise directional drilling and anticollision strategies to ensure safety and accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in drilling engineering or related roles.
• Certification in Well Control (IWCF or IADC) is required.
• Additional certifications in drilling operations are preferred.
