Specialist Electrical Engineer – Offshore FEED Project

About the role

KBR is expanding its Project Management Consultancy team for a high‑profile offshore FEED project in Abu Dhabi. The Specialist Electrical Engineer will lead electrical design and ensure compliance with ADNOC standards throughout the FEED phase.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve FEED electrical designs, including power generation, distribution, substations, switchgear, transformers, UPS and emergency power systems.
• Conduct power system studies such as load flow, short‑circuit, motor starting, harmonic and transient analyses.
• Manage EPC contractor deliverables, monitor performance, and participate in technical bid evaluations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces with process, instrumentation, telecom, mechanical and structural teams.
• Support HAZID, HAZOP, SIL and electrical safety reviews to ensure HSE compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred) with at least 15 years of oil‑and‑gas experience.
• Minimum 5–7 years in offshore FEED or detailed engineering projects, including experience with WHT, subsea pipelines and marine operations.
• Proven experience in PMC roles on ADNOC offshore projects is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of offshore power systems and hazardous‑area classification (Zone 0‑2, Ex).
• Familiarity with ADNOC standards and international codes (IEC, IEEE, NFPA, API).
• Proficiency with electrical simulation tools such as ETAP, SKM and DIgSILENT.
