Specialist Electrical Engineer – Offshore Project

About the role

KBR is expanding its Project Management Consultancy team for a high‑profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The Specialist Electrical Engineer will provide electrical engineering expertise across FEED, detailed engineering, EPC and commissioning phases for ADNOC offshore projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and review electrical calculations, studies and design deliverables for offshore oil and gas facilities.
• Develop and review single line diagrams, load lists, load flow, short‑circuit, motor‑starting, protection coordination, power system analysis, earthing and lightning protection designs.
• Design and review MV/LV power distribution systems and prepare equipment datasheets and specifications.
• Specify and evaluate technical requirements for transformers, switchgears, UPS systems, diesel generators, VFDs, motors, lighting systems, cathodic protection interfaces and hazardous‑area electrical equipment.
• Participate in vendor bid evaluations, technical clarifications and multidisciplinary coordination with process, instrumentation, mechanical, civil, telecommunications and operations teams.
• Review contractor and vendor documents for compliance with ADNOC standards, IEC, IEEE, NFPA and other international codes.

Required profile

• Electrical engineering expertise applied to offshore oil and gas projects.
• Familiarity with ADNOC offshore engineering standards and international codes.

Required skills

• Load flow, short‑circuit, motor‑starting and protection coordination studies.
• Power system analysis, earthing and lightning protection design.
• Design of MV/LV distribution systems.
• Specification of transformers, switchgears, UPS, diesel generators, VFDs, motors and lighting systems.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE and NFPA standards.
