Specialist Engineer – Construction Electrical

About the role

Worley is seeking a Specialist Engineer to lead electrical construction activities on its projects in Abu Dhabi. The role combines technical design, fabrication, installation and work‑pack preparation to ensure safe and efficient delivery of assets.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with the HSSE plan and promote safety leadership across construction activities.
• Drive technical design, fabrication and installation work‑pack preparation, including testing requirements and specialist equipment.
• Coordinate with client construction support providers, contractors and vendors to maintain workload visibility.
• Lead constructability reviews and embed constructability early in design and scope development.
• Maintain and update work‑pack logic on planning systems and ensure shutdown requirements are clearly identified.
• Conduct offshore surveys with the design team and address fabrication and installation queries promptly.
• Liaise with project engineers, engineering disciplines, vendors and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
• Prepare transport, installation and commissioning strategies and ensure timely receipt of IFC construction comments.

Required profile

• Demonstrated safety leadership and a strong commitment to HSSE compliance.
• Proven experience in electrical construction, fabrication and installation within large‑scale projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multi‑disciplinary environment and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Strong analytical skills to assess and improve working practices and productivity.
