Specialist Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

The Specialist Geotechnical Engineer will lead the study, design and specification of a wide range of civil infrastructure projects, including transportation systems, bridges, tunnels and water‑related facilities. Working under general supervision, the role requires independent application of advanced engineering techniques and the ability to guide junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct study, design, specification and service engineering for road, rail, airport and seaport transportation systems.
• Design bridges, infrastructure, drainage networks, underground utilities, hydrology/hydraulics, water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, water resources, raw water supply and tunnels.
• Apply advanced geotechnical and civil engineering techniques to solve complex problems.
• Make engineering decisions and represent the organization in conferences, negotiations and stakeholder meetings.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to designers and less experienced engineers.
• Manage assigned staff and budget as a measurable asset of the organization.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering (civil, geotechnical or related discipline).
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant engineering experience, with typical experience of 10 + years.
• Ability to work under general supervision while delivering high‑quality technical solutions.
• Strong scientific interpretation skills and the capacity to advise senior stakeholders.
