Specialist HSE Technical Engineer - Offshore

About the role

Worley is seeking a Specialist HSE Technical Engineer to lead loss‑prevention activities on an offshore hydrocracking complex project in Abu Dhabi. The role combines technical engineering expertise with strong safety leadership to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Drive HSSEQ goals and ensure compliance through personal leadership and active involvement.
• Coordinate and supervise loss‑prevention engineering aspects of the project, aligning with scope, budget, and schedule.
• Lead technical reviews of contractor and licensor deliverables, ensuring design optimisation and adherence to codes, standards, and best practices.
• Interface with technical departments, business units, operations, and maintenance to resolve engineering issues and maintain quality execution.
• Provide loss‑prevention expertise across engineering, fabrication, installation, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning phases.
• Develop and implement systems, procedures, and standards in line with international codes, owner specifications, local regulations, and HSE policies.
• Champion project safety culture and monitor contractor performance against contract obligations and industry standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in loss‑prevention or HSE engineering on large offshore or petrochemical projects.
• Strong knowledge of international codes, standards, and owner‑specific HSE requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage technical reviews.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with contractors, licensors, and internal stakeholders.
