Specialist Project Engineer

About the role

Worley is seeking a Specialist Project Engineer to lead the PMC Engineering group during the Engineering and Procurement phases of major projects in Abu Dhabi. You will supervise day‑to‑day work allocation, ensure competency of personnel, and act as the technical liaison between the contractor and the owner.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the PMC Engineering team, allocating work, supervising performance and ensuring the right disciplines are resourced.
• Oversee contractor activities during Engineering and Procurement, providing independent project management consultancy and technical advice.
• Lead design reviews, ensuring constructability, testability, operability, safety and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate vendor document reviews, secure owner approvals for engineering designs, and manage interfacing with Piping, Mechanical, Structural and E&I disciplines.
• Participate in customer reviews, conduct succession planning, competence assessments and performance evaluations.
• Provide on‑site safety leadership and conduct site visits as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on large‑scale projects.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to develop and implement engineering processes, procedures and systems.
• Experience in project risk mitigation, recovery planning and progress monitoring.
