Specialist Psychiatrist – Elderly Psychiatry

About the role

Amana Healthcare, a leading long‑term care and rehabilitation provider in the Middle East, is seeking a Specialist Psychiatrist focused on elderly psychiatry. The role involves delivering comprehensive mental health care to geriatric patients across long‑term care, rehabilitation, and complex medical settings.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage psychiatric conditions in elderly patients, including dementia, delirium, depression, anxiety, and late‑onset psychosis.
• Provide both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care tailored to the geriatric population.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate pharmacological and non‑pharmacological interventions.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing teams, psychologists, therapists, social workers, and families to ensure holistic care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and care‑planning meetings.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives, clinical governance, and best‑practice development in elderly mental health care.

Required profile

• Medical degree with completion of recognized postgraduate training in Psychiatry.
• Valid DOH (Abu Dhabi) Specialist Psychiatry license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in elderly/geriatric psychiatry.
• Sound knowledge of psychiatric care within long‑term care, rehabilitation, or complex care settings.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical judgment skills.
