Specialist Risk Management and BCM

About the role

The Specialist in Risk Management and Business Continuity Management (BCM) will lead the development, maintenance and improvement of the company’s risk and continuity frameworks. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Quality, the role ensures that policies, procedures and registers stay current, compliant and effective.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and update risk management and BCM procedures, policies and supporting documents in line with ISO 31000, ISO 22301 and internal governance.
• Support Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and keep related documentation and reports up‑to‑date.
• Maintain and version‑control Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), Crisis Management Plans (CMPs) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs).
• Manage risk and BCM registers, ensuring entries are current, owned and reviewed regularly.
• Engage with process owners, department heads and external stakeholders to ensure framework compliance.
• Monitor implementation of the Risk and BCM Framework and provide scheduled performance reports.
• Plan, conduct and evaluate testing and exercising of continuity plans, driving corrective actions.
• Act as the first‑level subject‑matter expert, advising department leaders on risk and continuity matters.
• Support top‑management decision‑making with risk inputs and promote a proactive resilience culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Risk Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management and/or business continuity, preferably in defence, aerospace, manufacturing or a regulated environment.
• Working knowledge of ISO 31000 and ISO 22301 and proven experience developing BIA, BCPs, CMPs and DRPs.
• Experience with internal audit fundamentals and the IIA’s IPPF framework.
