Specialist Rotating Engineer – Mechanical Equipment

About the role

Worley is seeking a Specialist Rotating Engineer to lead the mechanical rotating‑equipment discipline on a major project in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on ensuring safe, compliant, and high‑quality design and delivery of rotating machinery throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Champion project safety culture and engagement activities.
• Identify, evaluate, and resolve mechanical rotating‑equipment engineering issues.
• Review and approve contractor deliverables such as equipment design, system concepts, testing data, specifications, calculations, drawings, material requisitions and quantity estimates.
• Assess and comment on design documents from vendors, manufacturers and subcontractors, incorporating owner feedback.
• Participate in technical meetings with owners, licensors, contractors and vendors, including design reviews, 3D model reviews, constructability, SIL, EIA, HAZOP and HAZID sessions.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, relevant codes, standards and best practices.
• Supervise the review process and coordinate engineering input for design optimisation and business case analysis.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical rotating‑equipment engineering.
• Strong knowledge of design codes, licensor PDPs and project specifications.
• Ability to interpret calculations, specifications, plans and technical data.
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

• Mechanical rotating‑equipment design and analysis.
