Specialized Engineering Draftsman

About the role

The Draftsman – Engineering Specialized creates and maintains detailed engineering drawings for municipal infrastructure, roads, transportation networks and related civil projects. The role supports engineers and project teams by delivering accurate technical documentation that complies with standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, sections, profiles and technical illustrations for municipal and transportation projects.
• Develop layouts for roads, highways, bridges, drainage systems, utilities and traffic infrastructure.
• Convert conceptual sketches, calculations and specifications into precise engineering drawings.
• Produce and update drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation or other approved drafting software.
• Maintain electronic drawing databases, document control systems and revision histories.
• Prepare as‑built, shop and construction drawings and assist in engineering reports and quantity documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, planners, architects and contractors to obtain technical information and reflect design changes.
• Review drawings for completeness, accuracy and compliance with municipal regulations and engineering standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in preparing engineering drawings for municipal and transportation projects.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and incorporate technical feedback.
• Familiarity with local municipal regulations and engineering standards.
