Speech Therapist

About the role

The Speech Therapist provides assessment, diagnosis and therapeutic interventions for patients with speech, language, communication, voice, fluency and swallowing disorders. Working within a multidisciplinary team at Royal Hospital Dubai Investment Park, the role aims to help patients achieve optimal communication and swallowing outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients with speech, language, communication, voice and swallowing difficulties.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
• Provide speech and language therapy interventions for pediatric and adult patients.
• Conduct swallowing assessments and deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including assessment reports, progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers on therapy techniques and home exercises.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in case discussions, quality improvement initiatives and departmental activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy / Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Valid professional license/eligibility as required by UAE healthcare authorities (DHA/DOH/MOHAP).
• Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience in speech and language therapy, preferably in a hospital or multidisciplinary setting.
• Experience working with pediatric and/or adult patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
