Sr Piping Commissioning Engineer

About the role

KBR is seeking a Senior Piping Commissioning Engineer to join its Abu Dhabi team for a PMC project on a large‑scale MEGA EPC development. The role focuses on guiding the EPC contractor through completion, pre‑commissioning and commissioning phases to ensure a successful startup and handover to operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to the EPC contractor to meet completion milestones from construction through startup.
• Support the Onshore Completion Lead in implementing the approved Completion Management System, procedures and workflows.
• Verify that all systems are completed, certified and handed over in compliance with ADNOC and international standards.
• Review technical documentation, P&IDs and certification records for accuracy.
• Coordinate large database population, data validation and reporting for completion activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in commissioning/operation readiness, preferably in the GCC region.
• At least 5 years in oil & gas or petrochemical projects, with exposure to sour‑gas, utilities, power‑steam, generation and air‑separation plants.
• Demonstrated experience with Completion Management Systems and large‑scale data handling.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Completion Management System tools.
• Strong knowledge of P&IDs and systemization processes.
• Familiarity with API, ASME and IEC international standards.
• Ability to review and validate technical documentation and certification records.
