Staff Physician – Emergency Medicine

About the role

The Staff Physician in Emergency Medicine will provide direct patient care within the Emergency Department of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. The role involves diagnosing, treating and preventing acute illnesses and injuries, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high‑quality, culturally sensitive care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
• Prescribe and administer medications, therapies and emergency interventions.
• Interpret laboratory results, imaging and other diagnostic tests to establish diagnoses.
• Perform emergency procedures and surgical operations as required.
• Document clinical findings, treatment plans and referrals in the medical record.
• Coordinate care with other medical and non‑medical staff to optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in departmental committees, quality‑improvement initiatives and performance‑enhancement activities.
• Adhere to ethical standards, regulatory guidelines and hospital policies.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD, MBBS, MBChB) with recognized specialty qualification in Emergency Medicine.
• Valid medical license/registration in home country or last place of employment.
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience for Tier 1 candidates or 5 years for Tier 2 candidates.
• Maintenance of Certification as applicable.
