Store Assistant

About the role

The Store Assistant is responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining optimal stock levels. This role supports daily operations, contributes to monthly stock takes, and upholds health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Count, inspect and document all incoming and outgoing goods.
• Record every transaction in the ERP system and ensure 100% inventory accuracy.
• Participate in monthly stock takes and reconcile physical stock with ERP data.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels based on consumption patterns and lead times.
• Submit consumable ordering requests to the purchasing department.
• Promote paper‑saving practices and ensure routine daily tasks are completed.
• Follow all Quality, H&S and Environmental procedures and report any unsafe conditions.

Required profile

• Commitment to health, safety and environmental policies.
• Ability to work safely with heavy materials and operate trolleys and tables.
• Willingness to report accidents, near‑misses and unsafe practices.
• Good physical condition to handle materials up to 230 mm × 4 m copper conductors.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for inventory management.
• Experience in stock taking and inventory control.
• Material handling and heavy‑load transport knowledge.
• Understanding of MSDS for safe chemical storage and disposal.
