About the role

The Buyer will plan and select the range, type, quality and quantity of merchandise in line with customer demand, market trends and store policies, working closely with the Brand Manager and General Manager to meet budgeted targets.

Key responsibilities

Drive seasonal business strategy, formulate gross margin plans and develop fine‑tuned assortment and investment plans.
Negotiate with new suppliers on product pricing, payment terms, freight costs and promotional involvement, and issue purchase orders.
Manage Open‑to‑Buy (OTB) planning in coordination with the planning team.
Prepare and maintain the buying calendar, and collaborate with Marketing and Visual Merchandising on seasonal product focus initiatives.
Analyse weekly sales performance at style, range and category level, taking in‑season actions to optimise production flows and maximise sales.
Conduct regular competitor surveys to identify product gaps and influence range planning.
Oversee product training for staff, ensuring up‑to‑date knowledge and delivering buying feedback to senior management.
