Structural Engineer – Construction Supervision

About the role

AECOM is looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join its Construction Supervision team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on overseeing villa developments and residential communities, ensuring all structural works meet contract documents, approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all structural construction activities for villa developments, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and local authority regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections of excavation, foundations, reinforced concrete, structural steel, retaining walls, and other structural elements.
• Review and comment on shop drawings, reinforcement detailing, material submittals, method statements, and Requests for Information.
• Verify reinforcement installation, concrete placement, formwork, post‑tensioning, and structural connections before construction activities.
• Witness inspections and testing of structural materials such as concrete, reinforcement steel, grout, and other components.
• Monitor contractor workmanship and ensure compliance with project quality plans, Inspection and Test Plans, and health and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional registration or licensing preferred.
• Significant experience in structural construction supervision of residential projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE building codes and local authority regulations.
• Ability to work closely with the Resident Engineer and multidisciplinary site team.
