Structural Inspector

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Structural Inspector to supervise and inspect structural works on projects in Dubai, UAE. The role involves ensuring construction activities comply with contract specifications and maintaining accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of demolition and construction of structures such as reservoirs, lifting stations, landscaping structures, lagoons, swimming pools, substations, retaining walls, tunnels, and bridges.
• Maintain project office files, perform quantity calculations, and write daily diaries and reports.
• Verify that only approved materials are used and conduct labor compliance interviews.
• Collect and file Certificates of Compliance, Safety Data Sheets, inspection tags, and related documentation.
• Report installed quantities for payment applications and change orders.
• Coordinate sub‑consultants for surveying and material testing.
• Assist in developing job safety practices and quality control procedures.
• Respond to emergency call‑backs on site and document non‑conformances.
• Provide technical guidance to junior inspectors as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil structural engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years (60 months) relevant inspection experience.

Required skills

• Ability to review progress pay estimates and extra work bills.
• Ability to recognize hazardous work conditions.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Knowledge of public works contracts and construction‑related processes.
• Understanding of scheduling.
• Effective diary and reporting skills.
