Subcontract Engineer – Offshore Projects

About the role

The Subcontract Engineer will manage and coordinate subcontractors for Saipem's offshore projects, ensuring safe, on‑time delivery that meets technical and quality standards. This position focuses on EPCI Offshore (Marine and Fleets) activities in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the single point of contact between internal departments, customers and management.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor proposals, technical documentation and work plans for compliance.
• Perform cost, scenario analysis and benchmarking of goods and services to be procured.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, change orders, progress reports and related documentation.
• Serve as the primary liaison between project teams and subcontractors.
• Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies.
• Negotiate and close deals on optimal terms.
• Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of procurement experience in offshore oil & gas projects (e.g., jackets, sealine installation).
• Strong background in EPCI offshore environments.
