Supervisor – Central Receiving

About the role

The Supervisor – Central Receiving leads the supply team within the workshop stores, ensuring smooth receipt, storage and distribution of spare parts. Reporting to the Manager of Operations and Distribution, the role combines people management with strict compliance to warehouse directives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide managerial oversight to clerks, leads and technicians in the supply function.
• Act as the primary liaison between Operations Management and workshop managers.
• Organise and prioritise daily activities in the assigned store, ensuring timely delivery of spares.
• Monitor and control all supply transactions, meeting or exceeding performance metrics.
• Prepare weekly written reports on store activities and compliance.
• Maintain accurate SAP data entry for all transactions and update inventory records.
• Coordinate bi‑weekly reconciliations with the customer service section.
• Identify material supply trends and take preventative actions to avoid workshop stoppages.
• Assist with inventories and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Collect and verify timesheets, schedule leaves and vacations to maintain continuous operations.
• Order equipment, office supplies and IT/safety items as required.
• Promote continuous improvement, drive 5S/6S initiatives and uphold housekeeping standards.
• Ensure physical security of stock and perform on‑call duties when assigned.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising supply or warehouse teams.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
• Excellent communication skills to interface with managers and workshop staff.
• Attention to detail for accurate reporting and inventory control.
• Ability to manage employee schedules and timesheets.
• Commitment to safety, security and continuous improvement practices.
