Sustainability Associate – Energy

About the role

We are seeking a Sustainability Associate – Energy to join our award‑winning team in Abu Dhabi. The position supports sustainability compliance, energy modelling and sustainable‑development project management for built‑environment designs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full building and project energy‑efficiency analyses and recommend conservation measures.
• Develop dynamic simulation models to demonstrate compliance with international standards such as LEED and Estidama.
• Conduct thermal, daylighting and glare simulations.
• Prepare energy and water sustainability reports for Estidama, GSAS, LEED and internal KEO templates.
• Review designs for energy and water performance and carry out energy audits.
• Provide detailed mechanical systems analysis, including HVAC, CFD, solar control, thermal comfort and peak‑load reduction.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in energy modelling or related sustainability roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree, Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer status is a plus.
• Professional certifications such as LEED AP, Estidama Pearl Qualified Professional or GSAS Certified Green Professional are preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IES VE, Sefaira and Hap simulation tools.
• Dynamic building‑performance modelling, HVAC system analysis and CFD.
• Thermal, daylighting, solar control and glare analysis.
• Energy audit and conservation‑measure identification.
• Familiarity with LEED, Estidama and GSAS rating systems.
