Teaching and Bus Assistant

About the role

The Teaching and Bus Assistant supports classroom activities and ensures safe transport of children to and from school. Working closely with teachers, the role blends educational support with responsibility for student safety on the school bus.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers with lesson planning, preparation of materials, ICT equipment (computers, iPads, digital cameras, Bee‑Bot) and organization of children’s work.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, playtime, transitions and cloakroom use, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed.
• Read stories, lead art and craft sessions, mount and display children’s work, and maintain confidentiality of personal information.
• Accompany children on outings, provide first‑aid when needed, and report incidents to the Head of Early Years.
• Transport children safely, conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, take daily attendance, ensure seat‑belt use and monitor behaviour on the bus.
• Implement emergency plans, complete accident reports, and communicate any delays to parents.

Required profile

• Minimum diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years experience as a school bus or teacher assistant.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to safeguarding children.
• Ability to work within UAE cultural expectations and school policies.
