Technical Director – Strategic & Technical Leadership

About the role

Wasael Property Management is seeking a Technical Director to provide strategic and technical leadership across its development projects in Abu Dhabi. The role oversees the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through construction, commissioning and handover, ensuring alignment with budgets, timelines and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical direction for assigned projects, coordinating architectural, structural and MEP disciplines.
• Develop and enforce technical strategies, standards, specifications and procedures.
• Review designs, drawings, specifications and value‑engineering proposals for quality, constructability and compliance.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, design conflicts and delivery issues.
• Collaborate with Project, Design, Commercial, Procurement and Construction teams to align technical requirements with overall objectives.
• Manage consultants, designers, contractors and specialist service providers.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, authority requirements, codes and contractual obligations.
• Support tendering and procurement through technical evaluations and scope reviews.
• Lead technical workshops, coordination meetings and resolve complex engineering matters.
• Provide regular updates to executive management on technical risks and project performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related technical discipline.
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management or a related field (preferred).
• Extensive experience in overseeing large‑scale construction or real‑estate projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Strong knowledge of UAE building codes, regulations and authority approval processes.
