Technical Engineer - Public Cloud

About the role

Emirates is looking for a Technical Engineer to join its Platform Engineering team and drive the cloud modernization journey. You will work on designing, building and operating hybrid cloud platforms that support critical business functions across the Emirates Group.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deploy solutions and ensure seamless integration.
• Provide technical input for capacity management, service continuity and availability.
• Resolve incidents within agreed service levels and develop work‑arounds to minimise impact.
• Perform technical troubleshooting, problem analysis and ensure solutions meet architectural and security standards.
• Offer technical consultancy to project teams and act as a subject‑matter expert for the assigned technology area.

Required profile

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT engineering, preferably with public cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud concepts, security, governance and cost optimisation.

Required skills

• Public cloud platforms (compute, storage, networking, serverless, containers).
• Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Containerisation with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Development with Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, APIs, React and Node.js.
• Version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitoring, logging, observability and basic cloud troubleshooting.
• Automation of cloud workload onboarding and self‑service capabilities.
• Technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Cloud or DevOps certifications (associate level) are desirable.
• Exposure to AI/GenAI, AI agents or MCP integrations is a plus.
