Technical HSE Specialist

About the role

Worley is seeking a Technical HSE Specialist to lead loss‑prevention engineering for the Assiut Hydrocracking Complex Project in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures HSSEQ goals are achieved, supports safe and sustainable project delivery, and acts as the primary HSE technical interface across engineering, construction, commissioning and hand‑over phases.

Key responsibilities

• Drive HSSEQ objectives through personal leadership and active involvement.
• Coordinate and supervise loss‑prevention engineering activities to meet scope, budget and schedule.
• Review and approve contractor engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with codes, standards and Owner specifications.
• Interface with technical departments, operations and maintenance to resolve engineering issues and maintain quality.
• Provide technical expertise throughout engineering, fabrication, installation, pre‑commissioning and commissioning.
• Develop and implement systems, procedures and standards aligned with international codes, local regulations and Owner HSE policies.
• Champion project safety culture, behaviours and engagement activities.

Required profile

• Proven leadership in HSE environments and ability to influence safety culture.
• Strong understanding of loss‑prevention engineering principles and industry best practices.
• Experience reviewing and approving technical documentation against contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and resolve technical challenges.
• Familiarity with international codes, standards and local UAE regulations.
