Technical Superintendent – Marine Vessel Operations

About the role

The Technical Superintendent will oversee the technical performance and safety of a fleet of vessels based in Dubai. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role ensures vessels are maintained, compliant and operated efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily maintenance, repairs, budgeting and survey scheduling for assigned vessels.
• Ensure compliance with class, statutory regulations and IMCA guidelines.
• Oversee Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and the Vessel Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
• Maintain classification status and coordinate monthly survey status reports.
• Supervise anchor handling machinery, winches, cranes and other fixed equipment.
• Coordinate installation and certification of third‑party equipment such as ROVs and diving gear.
• Liaise with vessel masters, chief engineers, customers and purchasing to resolve technical issues.
• Control technical budgets, source supplies economically and manage subcontractor repairs.
• Update technical library, docking plans and ensure all repair information is recorded in the PMS.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical management of commercial vessels.
• Strong knowledge of class and statutory regulations and IMCA best practices.
• Ability to manage budgets and coordinate multi‑disciplinary technical teams.
• Excellent communication with ship‑board personnel, customers and internal departments.
