Technology Engineer – UAE National

About the role

Emirates NBD is seeking a hands‑on Technology Engineer (UAE National) to join its Group IT Technology Chapter. The role focuses on designing, building, operating and continuously improving enterprise technology platforms in a high‑availability environment. You will work within a matrix structure, collaborating with platform, security, data and agile teams to deliver automated, self‑service solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot Spark, Hive and YARN jobs and work with data engineering teams to improve performance.
• Drive automation across platform operations, including security checks, patching, infrastructure workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop automation scripts using Shell, Terraform, Groovy, Ansible and Python.
• Support containerisation and management with Podman, Docker, OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Contribute to product roadmaps, backlog execution and cost‑of‑ownership improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of engineering or operational experience, including 1 year in a similar platform‑operations role.
• Hands‑on experience with Cloudera CDP platform installation, maintenance and performance optimisation (highly preferred).
• Strong background in Linux systems, networking fundamentals and source‑control using Git.
• Experience working in large, complex, high‑availability enterprise environments.
