Travel Retail Area Sales Manager – Africa

About the role

As the Travel Retail Area Sales Manager for Africa, you will lead the commercial strategy and operations across travel retail channels such as airports, duty‑free shops and border crossings. Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for achieving sales targets, growing market share and strengthening the brand’s presence in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a commercial strategy for the African travel retail market, aligned with corporate objectives.
• Identify growth opportunities, analyse market trends and customer preferences to drive expansion.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create product, pricing and promotional concepts.
• Manage key accounts including airport authorities and duty‑free operators, negotiate contracts and secure optimal shelf placement.
• Monitor account performance, track sales data and provide regular reports on results and competitive activity.
• Lead, coach and evaluate a team of sales professionals, setting targets and KPIs.
• Coordinate with marketing, supply chain, finance and other departments to ensure seamless execution of commercial plans.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in travel retail or luxury goods sales within Africa.
• Strong track record of developing and implementing commercial strategies.
• Proven ability to manage key accounts and negotiate contracts.
• Leadership experience with a focus on coaching and performance management.
• Excellent analytical and market research skills.
