University Doctor – General Practitioner

About the role

We are seeking a qualified General Practitioner to serve as the University Doctor for the American University in the Emirates (AUE). The role involves delivering primary medical care to students, faculty and staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of the campus clinic in line with medical standards and ethics.

Key responsibilities

• Provide basic in‑house emergency care, first aid and routine health services to the university community.
• Act as the primary medical responder during on‑campus emergencies and coordinate with external emergency services.
• Conduct medical consultations, diagnose illnesses, prescribe treatments and refer patients to specialists when needed.
• Perform routine health screenings, vaccinations and health‑promotion activities.
• Support the Health & Safety Team with orientation, onboarding and health‑education sessions.
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Manage employee clinical insurance documentation and assist with referrals to hospitals and clinics.

Required profile

• Medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid DHA eligibility letter.
• Minimum of 2 years experience working in an educational institution.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently under pressure with a high degree of professionalism.
